How it started
In 2014 the founder of KEEF, went on an 1 month surf trip to Indonesia where he captured a bunch of surf photographs. Upon his return he decided to do something creative with his photos and developed a process to graphically alter his photos into a collection of print patterns.
The KEEF Surfboard
After designing numerous prints, Keefer decided to apply his artwork to something more tangible, which is when he collaborated with a California based surfboard shaper to create the first KEEF surfboard.
Made in USA
In 2021, Keefer designed his first KEEF Shirt prototype, an island style shirt inspired by traditional Caribbean style shirts and the iconic Aloha shirts from Hawaii. The following year, the shirt was refined to create the KEEF Shirt Launch Collection, which was ethically and eco-consciously made in USA.
Sustainability
Sustainability is deeply rooted in its origins. Growing up on a small Caribbean island ingrained a deep appreciation for the ocean and nature. Surrounded by pristine turquoise waters, lush green valleys, and diverse marine life, the island becomes a playground and a teacher. Its limited resources teach the importance of conservation, as one witnesses the fragile ecosystem and its vulnerabilities. The rhythm of life is intertwined with the tides and seasons, fostering a sense of harmony and interconnectedness. This upbringing instills a profound sense of responsibility and a desire to protect the ocean and nature, driving a lifelong commitment to sustainability, environmental stewardship, and the preservation of this awe-inspiring natural paradise.
